Perhaps because of influences like the upcoming release of The Great Gatsby, the deco artistic and design style that began in Paris in the 1920's seems to be making a big comeback. Influencing all areas of design, including architecture, interior design, fashion, jewelry, the arts and film, the deco style is a beautiful blend of glamour, functionality and modernity. The style embraces modern linear symmetry, while drawing inspiration from ancient Egyptian and Aztec designs. Many architectural examples exist, most famously in New York City with buildings such as The Chrysler and Rockefeller Center, and numerous hotels along the South Miami Beach strip including The Delano and The Breakwater.
