Luxe Holiday: Valentine's Day Guide

February starts tomorrow! Hard to believe! Valentine's Day is officially around the corner. Lots of pink and red, chocolates and candy, flowers, balloons and a fun reason to celebrate all of your loved ones.

This year I put out the classic conversation hearts over jelly beans or red hots as I will be less tempted to eat them all!
The "Friend Me" heart is my favorite!

Luxe Lifestyle: What's In Your Beach Bag? Hello Boudreau's Bag

Our fun series continues! Today we have guest blogger and fellow Floridian, Kelly Boudreau of Hello Boudreau, sharing her beach picks!

Kelly of Hello Boudreau

"Hi Luxe Report readers! When I purchase a bathing suit I always end up buying a solid color; I love to mix-match my tops and bottoms and solids are fun to color block! Just recently we all watched the Miss America 2013 pageant and during the swimwear portion of the competition I was completely obsessed with Miss Wyoming who wore a huge statement necklace with her bikini. She was the only contestant to wear jewelry with her swimwear and I think she made a major fashion statement and looked amazing. I never bring my expensive sunglasses to the beach because I worry about losing them in the water, sand scratching the lenses, etc. I try to be practical when going to the beach and I won't be upset if I get suntan oil on my $5.00 H&M sunglasses. Turkish Towels are the best beach towels because they are super absorbent and dry quickly - no wet, sticky sand on your towel! Mint chapstick cools you down when it's super hot outside!"

Luxe Lifestyle: In The Spirit Of Palm Beach

We been waiting quite some time for a fabulous, new coffee table book on Palm Beach and we got two within the last couple of months!  One being "Palm Beach Entertaining", which we posted about here, and the other, "In the Spirit of Palm Beach".  Pamela Fiori, the former editor-in-chief of Town & Country, has published several coffee table books, all featuring fabulous destinations around the world.  Her latest book features our beloved Palm Beach!  It is a sensational collection of iconic photos (many from the incredible Slim Aarons), clever quotes and tid bits of history about this beautiful place we call home!
If you are from here, or have even just visited, it is a must for your coffee table!
I love this shot...I'd love to frame her from my dressing room!

My two favorite places in Palm Beach...Were I got engaged and were I got married!

Luxe Decor: Favorite New Purchase Look for Less & Giveaway Winner!

One of the most ingenious modern takes on a French classic, the Louis Ghost Chair by Phillipe Starck. I've been wanting a pair for some time! A piece that is truly minimalist, not overpowering any other furniture in the room, but it still makes a statement! Perfect for dining, at a desk, vanity, or for a large event!

Like I said, I've been coveting a pair for some time, but the $400 price tag per chair is hard to swallow. Especially when you want to have a pair,  let alone outfit an entire dining room! And though in many cases the inspired version of any piece of furniture may not have the quality and craftsmanship of the original, I decided to go ahead and get the look for less for now.  Maybe down the road I'll have the real thing, but for now the inspired version will do!

Look for Less

I have one ghost chair at my parsons desk, and the other at my vanity. And I love having the option of adding them to the head of the dining table when I need more seating!

Designing The New Digs: Exceptional Entrances

I am in awe of all these incredible entrances I've come across on Pinterest!
Simply beautiful.  All of them!

But I must say, I love my entry too.  It makes smile when I pull up my driveway.  I love the combination of architectural detail, the metal door and the Mediterranean lantern and tiles.  I'd still like to get a more interesting pair of planters...but in the meantime these will do.  I got them from Home Depot for a steal and stained them a rich brown.
